Helen Royal, Commissioner of Revenue

Commissioner of the Revenue Helen Royal was first elected in 2011 with her first term beginning Jan. 1, 2012. She is current serving her third term. She is a lifelong resident of Montgomery County and has worked in the office for 30 years. The Commissioner is elected locally every four years and is the chief assessing officer of the County. 


Helen Royal has introduce web-based technology that allows residents to interact with the Commissioner of the Revenue's office. She has and will continue to cross-train all employees for better customer service, assess all real estate and personal property equitably and encourage input from taxpayers.
