Volunteering at the Center
At this time we are unable to accept new volunteers due to COVID-19 and state restrictions regulating gatherings. However, if you have already completed our Volunteer Orientation training and wish to resume volunteering after a break in service, please
contact our Volunteer and Education Coordinator Lori Charett at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are looking forward to things getting back to normal and when it is safe to do so, we will offer
volunteer training again and expand the volunteer opportunities! In the interim, we are evaluating how we may safely work with the restrictions in place and train new volunteers.
Existing Volunteers: Need to ask questions, provide suggestions, or get a refresher on how to work with the animals, etc.? Contact our Volunteer and Education Coordinator at 540-382-5795 x 57005, email at email@example.com or stop by the Center, Our Volunteer/Education Coordinator has office hours from 12-3 p.m. Thursdays.
Other Ways to Help
The center also needs people to assist in transporting animals and foster care.
In order for the center to place appropriate animals in prospective temporary homes, fosters need to complete an application. Download the application and save it to your personal device.
(If you do not have Adobe Acrobat to complete the application, use Internet Explorer to access the application, complete it, and save it.)
Community Service (Court-ordered or attorney-recommended)
As space is available, the center will accept court-ordered or attorney-recommended community service participants to help with cleaning, landscaping maintenance, etc. Individuals with court-ordered or attorney-recommended community service will not have
contact with the animals and must complete an application prior to service.
