Effective April 17, the Montgomery County portion of the Huckleberry Trail is open to pedestrians and cyclists following the completion of a major engineering and construction project.
Work began in November 2025 and included the replacement of three bridges along the County's portion of the trail. Improvements feature new concrete abutments, upgraded stormwater infrastructure, new steel bridge structures, updated surface materials, and new asphalt approaches.
The $1 million project was cash-funded using funds set aside over several years for Parks and Recreation improvements.
