Volunteer Montgomery

Volunteer opportunities include assisting area non-profit organizations, visiting nursing homes, bake sales and specialized events throughout the year.

Volunteer time commitment is up to each individual and their availability. Volunteers must be willing to serve without compensation. Minors (under 18 years of age) must have a parent/guardian accompany them on all Volunteer Montgomery activities. Parent/guardian must also complete a Volunteer Enrollment Application.

Join us for a designer handbag auction and afternoon tea with live music by Chloe Scales on November 16, 2024! There will be over 20 designer bags to bid on. All donations will go to support our local community through Volunteer Montgomery's in-house programs such as Supplies for Seniors, Cards for Nursing Homes, Coupons for Active Military, and much more. Volunteer Montgomery is having a Chili Cook-Off fundraising event! The event takes place on Oct. 19, at 10 am, at the Montgomery County Government Center in Multipurpose Room 1 at 755 Roanoke Street, Christiansburg. Buy $5 tickets in advance either online or at our office. $10 tickets at the door.

Volunteer Montgomery Recipe Book Pre-Sale – Get a head start on holiday gift shopping and reserve your recipe book now for only $15! It includes 170 recipes submitted by our volunteers and many friends and family throughout the community. Please note pick-up is required as we are unable to deliver; books are expected to arrive mid-October. October Supply Drive for Micah's Backpack – We are collecting individual cereal cups to support the mission of Micah’s Backpack, a program that addresses food insecurity for youth in 10 local schools. Please bring any donations to the Volunteer Montgomery office during our office hours before November 1.

Flowers for Veterans – We will be creating and delivering flower arrangements to veterans who reside in nursing homes and assisted living facilities throughout Montgomery County. Volunteers are needed to help us assemble arrangements for our Flowers for Veterans program at the Volunteer Montgomery office on Thursday, November 7th at 10 am.
