Corrections
The Montgomery County Jail operates on the principal and belief that the safety and security of the inmates, staff and community are essential. The jail staff constantly strives to provide appropriate supervision and security of the persons entrusted
to their care. Jail programs are designed to instill self-respect and desire for self-improvement while a individual is incarcerated, with the ultimate goal to return law-abiding citizens to the community. The jail also oversees the Home Electronic Monitoring (HEM) program for inmates who have been ordered to serve their time while remaining in their home.

The current jail building
was reconstructed in 1987-88 at a cost of $1.5 million.
