Public Information serves as a communication link between County departments, residents, the news media and other groups. The office manages and publishes print and digital content related to external and internal communications. The office maintains
this website, posts to social media, podcasts, news releases,
and produces videos and photography. Board of Supervisors meetings are available via YouTube and on Comcast and Shentel Channels 190.
On even-numbered years (i.e. 2022, 2024), the PIO hosts the Citizens Academy with the Town of Christiansburg. Classes provide
a hands-on experience for participants, covering a wide variety of local government functions ranging from fire and rescue, libraries, animal care, public works, and much more!
Public records available under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) are available by contacting the county's Public
Information Office.
