Notice of Public Meeting (Hearing) on March 19

The meeting (hearing) will be held at the Montgomery County Government Center from 10 a.m. -12 p.m. in the Board Room.

Montgomery County, in cooperation with and on behalf of the Montgomery County Public Service Authority (PSA), will hold a public meeting (hearing) on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at the Montgomery County Government Center from 10 a.m. -12 p.m. in the Board Room (755 Roanoke Street, Christiansburg, Va.).

The meeting (hearing) is to update the public regarding the Viewland Circle neighborhood water infrastructure status, as well as the County's work to potentially secure grant funding on behalf of the PSA to pay for repairs and rehabilitation as the system is brought into the PSA. Representatives from the PSA Board, PSA staff, and New River Valley Regional Commission will facilitate the meeting.

Citizen input will be sought for the proposed applications to the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding to support these repair efforts. The CDBG program is offering assistance to local governments in response abandoned water systems such as the Viewland Circle situation.

Montgomery County's application includes evaluation, hydraulic modeling, and rehabilitation of the current water system as it is brought into the PSA water system.
An overview for each application will be presented for comment along with information on projected beneficiaries. Citizens will also be given the opportunity to comment on Montgomery County’s past use of CDBG funds.

Anyone needing assistance or accommodation under the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act should call the County Administration Office at (540) 382-6954 at least three (3) days in advance of the meeting.

If you have comments, questions, or concerns, but will be unable to attend please contact John O’Shea john@nrvrc.org 540-639-9313.
