County’s Finance Team Receives Award for 32nd Consecutive Year

Every year for the past 32 years (1987-2019), the Montgomery County Finance Department has received the Government Finance Officers Association’s Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting.

Board of Supervisors Recognizes County's Finance Department for Receiving Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting AwardOn July 22, 2019, the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors recognized Finance Director, Angie Hill, for the receipt of the highest form of recognition in financial and governmental reporting for 32nd year.

"As Chair of the Board of Supervisors, I know that the Board and the citizens of Montgomery County can have complete confidence in the County's Finance Team and all they do. This award just validates that. I’m thankful to have such an experienced and dedicated team working for Montgomery County," said Todd King.

The award was given to Montgomery County again this year for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2018. The CAFR was judged by an objective panel of national governmental finance professionals to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate the County's financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.

"To receive this award any year is a quite a challenge and an honor. To receive it for 32 consecutive years is phenomenal," said County Administrator, Craig Meadows.
