County property owners may request a hearing before the Board of Equalization (BOE) regarding their reassessed values by calling 540-394-3126, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., between Dec. 10, 2018, and Jan. 18, 2019.
If you previously made an informal appeal in person with an assessor or online, notice regarding the outcome of your appeal will be mailed by Dec. 7, 2018.
The BOE will begin hearing appeals starting Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019, at the Reassessment Office, 16. N Franklin St. (back entrance), Christiansburg. Appeals will be scheduled at 15-minute intervals through Feb. 21. If needed, additional appointments may be scheduled through March 6.

Walk-in appeals and phone call appeals will not be allowed.
The BOE offices will be closed on days that Montgomery County Public Schools are closed for inclement weather.
The BOE is a five member independent panel of County citizens appointed by the Circuit Court. The BOE may increase, decrease or leave assessments the same following an appeal.
