Meet the Chief Deputy
Chief Deputy Bill Tolley is second in command at the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.
The Chief Deputy is responsible for the daily operations of the office and is the Sheriff's
right hand man. He assists with the planning and directing of the activities of the office,
reviews new laws, methods, and techniques in law enforcement. He is responsible
for personnel, which includes interviewing applicants, testing, hiring, assignment,
and discipline.
Chief Tolley runs the Citizen Police Academy for the
Sheriff. The purpose of the citizen's academy is to educate the public on the
responsibility and functions of their Sheriff's Office. Chief Tolley assigns
instructors and assists in instructing and selecting students for the academy.
