- How do I get a building permit and inspection?
- The Mongomery County Building Inspectors
perform inspections on all construction in the unincorporated areas of the County. Inspections
may be scheduled Monday through Friday by calling 382-5750. Due to the volume of work
all inspection requests must be made 36 hours prior to the day you would like the
inspection performed. Inspections are not performed on weekends.

- Where do I get a County decal for my car?
- The Treasurer's Office in the
Montgomery County Government Center
sells County vehicle decals.
- When may I renew my County vehicle decal?
- County vehicle decals go on
sale in the Treasurer's Office March 1st
of each year.
- When do I need to purchase a dog tag?
- Dog tags go on sale
November 1st at the Treasurer's Office or
the Blacksburg Municipal Building. Dog tags are due by
January 31st of each year. Additional information, including fees and an order form,
can be found on the dog tag page.
- Where do I register to vote?
- You can register to vote at the Voter Registrar's Office in the Montgomery County Government Center.

- Montgomery County generally accepts employment applications only for
positions that are currently being advertised.
A County application is required (download the
Adobe Acrobat
or Microsoft Word
version). Resumes may be attached to the application form. Applications may be submitted
by email, fax, or postal mail to the Human Resources Department.
