Price's Fork Village Planning Process
Introduction
Village planning has come to Price's Fork. Starting February 1, Price's Fork residents have a say in how their
village and the adjacent village expansion area will be defined and developed over the next 20 years. County
planning staff, graduate students enrolled in the Urban and Regional Planning
Studio at Virginia Tech, and
consultants from Herd Planning and Design will join with Price's Fork residents and other interested citizens
in developing the Price's Fork Village Plan.

Process
Creating a village plan is a multi-stage process centered on community participation. The following is an
outline of how this process will take place.
- Surveys
- From February 11 through February 21 students from Virginia Tech will go door-to door in Price's Fork,
surveying residents on their views of their community and their wishes, needs, and concerns for the future.
If no one is home, a survey will be left along with a self-addressed envelope. The survey is also
available online in PDF format.
Surveys will be accepted through March 1. The results
of the survey will provide the planning staff, the consultants, and the Price's Fork Village Plan Advisory
Committee with a starting point for developing the overall village plan.
- Appointment of Price's Fork Village Plan Advisory Committee
- This committee, which was appointed by the Board of Supervisors, helps guide
the village planning process and acts as representatives of the larger community. The members of
the advisory committee were chosen from a list of interested residents (those who volunteered on
the survey), members of Price's Fork village organizations and institutions (school, Grange,
churches, etc.), and others who feel they have a stake in the future of Price's Fork.
