AT A REGULAR MEETING OF THE MONTGOMERY COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION
HELD ON AUGUST 19, 1998 IN THE BOARD ROOM (#327) THIRD FLOOR, COUNTY COURTHOUSE,
CHRISTIANSBURG, VIRGINIA:
CALL TO ORDER:
Mr. Wells, Chair, called the meeting to order and Ms. Brennan, Secretary, established the presence of a quorum.

PUBLIC ADDRESS:
Mr. Wells opened the Public Address Session:
Margaret Smith, Riner, addressed the Commission concerning the new Zoning Ordinance. She asked for feedback on conflict of interest pertaining to a water and sewer issue. Mr. Powers asked that she submit a letter to the Planning Commission stating her request.
There being no further comments from the public, Mr. Wells closed the Public Address session.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA:
On motion by Ed Green, seconded by Kitty Brennan and unanimously carried, the agenda was approved as amended. Union Valley Estates Subdivision and 2232 Review Process was added under New Business. Road issues to be addressed by Kimberly Golden was added to the Planning DirectorÕs Report.
REPORT OF SECRETARY:
Ms. Brennan reported that Human Rights Retreat would be held next Saturday, August 29th. She said the cost is $40.00. Mr. Powers stated that the cost would be covered under the Planning Commission budget for any member that wished to attend.
CONSENT AGENDA:
On motion by Ray Alcorn, seconded by Ed Green and unanimously
carried, the Consent Agenda was approved for the following:
Minutes of the July 8, July 15 and July 22, 1998 and scheduling
of September 9, 1998 7:00 PM public hearing for:
