County
Planning Commission
8 January 1998
All present except Mary Biggs and Pug Wells
We started in the Law Library, Room 405
CALL TO ORDER
Richard Daub, Chairman, called the meeting to order and Harry Neumann,
Secretary, established the presence of a quorum.
PUBLIC ADDRESS
Margaret Smith presented a letter to the Planning Commission concerning
heavy trucks in the General Business zoning district. She would like the information
from her appeal to the Board of Zoning Appeals forwarded to the planning consultants
working on the zoning ordinance revision. Bruce Drenning said that he had
received this information.
WORK SESSION
The Commission entered into Work Session. The Chairman
moved the meeting from the Law Library to the 3rd floor lobby due to the noise
from the noise from the heating/cooling system.
The consulting team of Bruce Drenning (Bruce Drenning & Associates)
and Milt Herd (Herd Planning & Design) was present to discuss the zoning
ordinance revision. Commission members had previously received an annotated
copy of the present Zoning Ordinance containing comments and general recommendations
from the consultants. The following districts were reviewed and discussed:
- C-1 Conservation District
- A-1 and A-2 Agricultural Districts
- R-1, R-2, R-3 and RM-1 Residential Districts
- PUD-Residential District
Also discussed were ideas for tying the revised zoning ordinance to the
Comprehensive Plan. The Commission will complete their review of the annotated
ordinance at the February Work Session and forward comments to the consultants.
Several public comment meetings will be scheduled around the county in February
and March in order that the consultants can gain additional input..
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned
at 9:45 p.m.
