Introduction

Initial survey responses show that residents are concerned with a wide variety of transportation issues, including alternative and public transportation, bikeways and walkways, and the condition of existing roads. Major primary and secondary road projects and most road-related issues are handled by the Virginia Department of Transportation. Information about the Rural Additions Program is available through the Montgomery County Planning Department, 540-382-5750. Currently, Blacksburg Transit provides the only public transporation in Montgomery County, specifically with the Two-Town Trolley.
