included because of the array of materials provided in the site. The planning
topic pages are provided as a public service and are not meant to endorse

- FEDERAL
HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE LINKS PAGE
NOTE: While the page provides links to a broad range of non-profit, non-government,
government organizations, the page is somewhat out of date (last updated 25
January 2002). In the intervening time, some government sites and agencies (most
notably the EPA's Environmental Justice National
Environmental Justice Advisory Council--a federal advisory committee established
in 1993 to "provide independent advice, consultation, and recommendations"
to the EPA on matters of Environmental Justice-- has since been collapsed into
the EPA's Office of Envorcement and Compliance Assurance.
- CENTER FOR COMMUNITY ACTION AND ENVIRONMENTAL
JUSTICE
CCAEJ's projects include the Rural Communities Initiative (Desert Protection
Project, Pesticide Organizing Project, and Community Awareness and Monitoring
Project), Safe Schools Project, Community Awareness and Monitoring Project,
Communities at Risk Network, Money and Politics, and Chemicals and Community
Health. While much of the material and the organizations projects focus on California,
the site does offer a range of information on a broad range of community centered
issues (park development, sustainable communities, and risk assessment).
- U.S.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE PAGE
- THE ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE
INFORMATION PAGE (University of Michigan)
Includes a working definition and the history of the environmental justice
movement. The site also provides a collection of terms; access to court cases,
reports, and articles; and a list of applicable site links. While the site provides
a reasonably good introduction, the site has not been updated since 1997, so
the materials, especially court cases and links, will be out of date.
- ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE RESOURCE
CENTER (Clark Atlanta University)
Site housed under the Federal Environmental Protection Agency,
including access to the landview mapping tool, brownfield information, and a
broad range of federal reports, news, legislation, and publications. Most of
the materials are available both as PDF and HTML files.
