iGIS Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find a parcel via an OWNER'S NAME?
  1. Make sure the TAX PARCELS map layer is VISIBLE and ACTIVE.
  2. Click the FIND Find toolbar icon toolbar icon. The find textbox is displayed near the bottom of the webpage, to the right of "Enter String to Find in Tax Parcels."
  3. Type the owner's last name in the find textbox. To narrow your results, try typing the owner's last name followed by a space then the owner's first name.
How do I find a parcel via an ADDRESS?
  1. Make sure the TAX PARCELS map layer is VISIBLE and ACTIVE.
  2. Click the FIND Find toolbar icon toolbar icon. The find textbox is displayed near the bottom of the webpage, to the right of "Enter String to Find in Tax Parcels."
  3. Type the street name (i.e. SUNSET) in the find textbox. To narrow your results add the "street type" (i.e. SUNSET ST). In the case of "MAIN ST" you can type "N MAIN ST" or "W MAIN ST", etc. Adding more of the address will narrow your results. If you narrow your search too far, you may get a "NO FEATURES FOUND" message. This message may be due to misspellings or abbreviations in the tax parcels real estate database.
How do I find a parcel via a PARCEL ID?
  1. Make sure the TAX PARCELS map layer is VISIBLE and ACTIVE.
  2. Click the SEARCH/STORED QUERY Search toolbar icon toolbar icon. The search form is displayed near the bottom of the webpage.
  3. Find the drop down box labelled "Tax Parcels." Select "Find via Parcel ID."
  4. Find the textbox labelled "Value:". Type the PARCEL ID number. Remember, ALL PARCEL IDs are six digits. Don't forget to type the leading zeros (i.e., 000345).
How do I find the ADJOINING OR ADJACENT parcels?
  1. Make sure the TAX PARCELS map layer is VISIBLE and ACTIVE.
  2. Click the "Select Map Features by Drawing a Rectangle" Select by rectangle toolbar icon toolbar icon.
  3. Click somewhere inside the parcel.
  4. Click the BUFFER Buffer toolbar icon toolbar icon. The buffer form is displayed near the bottom of the webpage.
  5. Find the drop down box labelled "Highlight features from." Select "Tax Parcels."
  6. Find the textbox labelled "FEET." Enter the number of feet you wish to use to find the adjoining parcels.
  7. Find the "Display Attributes" checkbox. If it's not checked, click on it.
  8. Click the "Create Buffer" button. The adjoining parcels will be displayed below the map.
