1990 Comprehensive Plan

NEIGHBORHOOD & SPECIAL INTEREST PLANS

GOAL NP 1.0.0

Work with County residents to plan for the orderly growth of distinct neighborhoods and communities.
POLICY NP 1.1.0

Prepare individual Neighborhood Plans to guide the growth and development of identified Urban Expansion Areas and Rural Expansion Areas and of Specially Impacted Areas. Upon completion, Neighborhood Plans shall be adopted as an element of the County’s Comprehensive Plan.

POLICY NP 1.2.0

Participate upon request in the planning efforts of other jurisdictions and of regional bodies. Recent examples include participation in Blacksburg’s Prices Fork Road Corridor Study (1985) and the Planning District Commission’s Roanoke River Corridor Study (underway). When appropriate, portions of these plans shall be adopted as an element of the County’s Comprehensive Plan.
