Introduction

Before starting the resistivity study, County staff and Ted Dean, ATS, walked the property and identified specific areas where subsidence was clearly visible, including above and to the west of the Huckleberry Trail and two areas immediately below the Merrimac Loop Trail (access road). In addition, Mr. Dean identified a number of areas with Anomalous EM signatures (areas marked in blue on the Map.

A number of other features are also shown on Map 1, including a portion of the archaeological sites, the iron oxide seeps (see the water quality study for more information), and proposed park features.
