Adult Foster Care
| What is AFC? |
Adult Foster Care (AFC) is a community-based contractual arrangement between Montgomery County Department of Social Services, a department-approved provider, and an Auxiliary Grant-eligible client. AFC is a program in Montgomery County dedicated to providing the necessary care for aged and disabled adults, while maintaining the highest level of independence and dignity in the community. An AFC home is a residence that provides accommodations, supervision, and some personal care services for up to three (3) adults who are elderly or disabled. In the home, the resident is provided with a room, meals and housekeeping. The Adult Foster Care provider also helps residents with their minimal personal care needs.
|
| Our Mission |
Montgomery County Department of Social Services believes in the dignity and independence of the individual. In order to enable eligible adults to maintain their dignity and independence to the greatest extent possible, adult foster care (AFC) will be provided when indicated and available.
